Acoustic blues? In Chicago?

Well, it ain't Texas, but if you can't find acoustic blues in Chi-town then I'd have to wonder about your ability to find your own ...

(Nevermind!)

My nephew Tom in Somewhere, Japan, tells me you are in Chicago looking for a pizza, or words to that effect. Uno's, Due's, Baccino's, and there's another Italian (first)name place. Lou Malnotti's. Deep dish. Always get the deepdish.

For other kicks - whatever music festival or Taste of Chicago is going on in Grant Park (music on weekends - Taste runs more than a week.

Chicago Shakespeare Theatre on Navy Pier if you like (or dislike) Shakespeare. Consistently well-directed sometimes overproduced. Winter's Tale was most recent I saw, but that run may have ended.

Black Ensemble Theatre at Hull House has great productions musical/biographies of great black (mostly)musicians. Wonderful theatre, fresh, energetic, alive - NEVER overproduced.

Skip the Hancock and/or Sears Tower observatories unless the day is crystal clear. If you flew into chicago you got a better view from the plane.

Lots of music events, shows, clubs around chicago, but I'm not too up on that scene. Don't miss the Art Institute if you like art - also there are probably neighborhood art fairs and street fairs - Old Town, Lincoln Park, Hyde Park.

See the Cubs play.

Enjoy. Welcome to Chicago.

Eduardo's. The other pizza place in Chicago (several locations including Hyde Park, Evanston, and some others) is Eduardo's. Good stuff

Good luck.

Hey Glenn, thanks for the welcome and the information. I'm definitely running out of steam here, but still have two more days so will try and get to see some live theatre and maybe eat a little Pizza.

DJ, I found the acoustic blues on the net, but the energy levels were such that my feet didn't take me there.

Love the city. It is just ace!

Enjoy Edwardo's Pizza.......nothing like it is available in
N. or S. California or in Florida.
It was started by Eddie Jacobson in his first place in
East Rodgers Park......it was a big sucess in the 70's.
Eddie was an accountant for a big accounting firm in
Chicago when he decided to wear a flannel mickey
mouse shirt to work with his suit. He got fired and
never went back.. a few years later he opened up
with the co-sign of his wealthy uncle that first
place in East Rodger Park.

Thanks for the extra info. I guess you got to this site via Google and you probably won't be the last, so always good to have that extra 'local' information. Thanks again.
