Chicago 1: Just an urban boy

I guess I'm just an 'urban' kinda guy. Give me some tall brick buildings, a bustling city and a subway system and you can keep me happy for a long time. Fortunately, Chicago has plenty of those. The big mid-western sky, which was shining blue for me on my arrival, adds to the allure of this impressive city. I'm looking forward to doing some walking around the downtown area as well as visiting one of the most magnificent contemporary art museums to be found anywhere in the world.

I did a Christmas concert in Chicago in 1979, in the shadow of the Picasso Pigeon. Cold? I had to keep blowing air through the horn even when I wasn't playing to keep the valves from freezing.

Be sure to add more undigested red meat to your bowels at Diamond Jim's, and order it rare or at most medium rare.

Don't get me started about Chicago pizza! Dangling that in front of me while I'm stuck in Japan amounts to torture of the sort outlawed by the Geneva Convention.

I think (and I guess you've confirmed) that no html is allowed in the comments section.

Any recommendations for a good pizza house? Maybe I should just walk to Little Italy and chance my arm.

No, I don't know Chicago that well. But I'm willing to bet virtually anything you try (other than Dominos et al) is going to be worlds beyond what we have here.
