Chicago 8 - Jan the janitor
Meet Jan from northern Poland. He let me on to the roof of 220 South State Street where he works as a janitor. I like getting on to the roof of buildings. You get a more expansive perspective don't you know. Jan has been in the U.S. for 17 years and is a citizen, but he must have cheated on his English exams ... or maybe one didn't need them when he applied. A sweet man with a kindly disposition. I instantly took a like to him. Click on the picture for that more expan... er ... bigger view.

maybe literary is the wrong word. What I mean to say is that the whole look and feel of this blog is more like the architectual digest than a chat. So I already feel like I have bogged down blog. Joe you are really good at taking pictures. so much so that I am now excited to take some pictures again. I guess living here I have come oblivious of our architectural environment because it is one massive, egregious eye sore.
So camera in hand I will take pictures of rural canada and send them on to you. we leave wednesday.
By the way what are you doing in Chicago? I am sure Jan is a cold war spy and a contact giving you your next assignment. Why else would you meet on top of an isolated building?
Anyway Joe, we didn't get together for that beer. Will do so when we get back before school starts. In the mean time, how about some pictures of smokey blues bars.

Definitely take pictures and mess around with the pictures using some software i.e. cutting out extraneous stuff from the sides and top. It was another blog that prompted me to take photos and the digicam (as I have mentioned in another comment lower down) does allow you to take loads of pictures and then just delete the useless majority.
I'll blog the purpose of this visit later. Jan does look like Gorbachev don't you think? No more time for smokey blues bars, but more photos to come of other sites.
