My buddy DJ has just posted on his site about the embarassments the British government is facing as a result of the personal information stored in Microsoft Word documents. If you share Microsoft Word documents and don't want people reading things you thought you deleted etc., you might want to read what DJ writes here to protect yourself.
Update: Read DJ's comments below to gain access to his site.

Posted by: DJ at August 25, 2003 08:31 PMWhoops! Forgot about that. Thanks for jumping in quick and pointing it out.
Posted by: Joe at August 25, 2003 08:48 PMThis is very shocking...I want to check what kind of information will be included in Word documents I worked on at work.
Posted by: Kaoru at August 25, 2003 09:14 PMIn general, your name, the file path to the document, possibly your company name and address and your e-mail address.
In addition, any text that you copied or cut from that document or any other Word document you had open at the same time.
Posted by: DJ at August 26, 2003 03:46 PMThis is actually old news, I'm surprised it has come up now.
The less said about "Microsoft" and "security", the less. Washington Post had a good article (sorry, don't have the URL any more) that compared Windows security to leaving your car in a bad neighborohood with doors open and keys inserted and with a note on dashboard saying "Please don't steal me".
I think the point with Microsoft is that it's _never_ old news? With their billions of users, there's always someone who hasn't heard that their car's about to be (or has already been) stolen again.
